CINCINNATI, OH - Sept. 11, 2008 - The Keep Anderson Safe Committee is partnering with Justice & Young (J&Y) to create awareness and educate citizens about the need for a proposed public safety levy, which will appear on the Nov. 4 ballot as issue number 30. The local marketing and public relations agency is donating their services to this worthy cause.
According to the Committee, marketing support is critical to secure the tax levy and maintain current levels of community services. Benefits of the proposed operating levy include: student education and safety services in local schools, crime prevention services for area law enforcement and expansion of EMS training and resources for every firehouse throughout the community.
“We are proud to lend our support and help secure the necessary resources to continue offering high-quality safety services to the citizens of Anderson Township,” said J&Y Partner, Dale Justice.
With more than 43,000 residents, providing quality public safety can be a daunting and expensive task. Anderson Township last passed a public safety levy in 2000. Community officials say the demand for and cost to provide public safety services has significantly increased since that time. The cost of fuel for vehicles alone has more than tripled during the past eight years.
The proposed levy will cost homeowners 22 cents per day for every $100,000 in accessed home value. This 2.7 mils operating levy projects the Township's anticipated safety services operating costs at current levels for the next five years.
